Epoxy E - Lite
The Watercooled E-Lite Epoxy Surfboard is the most progressive and unique construction of its type in the market today. The Watercooled E-lite board is a computer shaped, hand crafted performance surfboard of lightweight construction. It utilises a combination of expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), transparent clear epoxy resin and special biaxial constructed fibre cloth.
The biaxial cloths are of a superior construction that a general woven type cloth in that one layer is made up of two plies of a unidirectional cloth which oppose each other. The cloth threads, when applied to the board, set at 45 degrees to the board's centre line as opposed to a traditional woven cloth which sits vertically and horizontally to the centre line. This design remendously improves the structural integrity of the board.
In a traditional woven cloth, much of the structure of the cloth is underperforming. It is not adding to the core nose to tail structural strength. The use of a biaxial cloth results in a structurally superior board that has a greatly improved strength to weight ratio. Further to this, the use of a biaxial fibre interacts and impacts on the torsion and flex characteristics, in tern, delivering greater response and ultimately a higher sense of performance.
